Our Programs - a sampling     Top of Site

Over many years, Grace has stressed children's education. We have a PreSchool in our Education Building. Often, we have a waiting list. The class is a Christian outreach and service, as well as a general education program for congregation and neighborhood. We consider the school a mission outreach; families have joined the congregation this way.

In a typical week, Grace has various Christian education programs. On Sunday, we have classes for adults and children of all ages. About twice a year, the pastor offers an Information Class for those interested in exploring the Christian faith, the Lutheran heritage and Grace Church. He also offers a Confirmation Class about twice a year. During the typical week, we have three classes for adults; the topics range from prayerful reading of the Holy Scriptures to specific topics or issues. Generally, all the adult education classes are led by lay people; the pastor has often leads the Sunday morning Adult Bible Class.

Grace has an active branch of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. In a typical year, the group has several projects of various sizes and sorts, from raising money for a missionary family to helping build handicap shelters at a Boy Scout camp to hosting Lenten potluck suppers to adding a room to the home of a stroke victim. Fellowship, too!

Grace is also a music church. For example, over the years our Adult Choir and the Youth Choir (now inactive, wanting a leader) have presented programs ranging from the Christmas Story to a Bach Festival to an old-fashioned hymn sing. Our choirs are small, about 16 adults and 10 children, and are enthusiastic in praising the Lord through music. We also have some gifted soloists who sometimes enhance our worship with voice or instrument. The congregation has joined in worshiping our Lord in new and revitalizing ways.

We have added an electronic piano, and most recently a three manual Walker 351 digital organ. Most people think it sounds like a great pipe organ - with lots of frills. It helps that our organist is outstanding!

Most every Sunday, Grace worships in hymns both traditional and contemporary, selected from many sources.
